Jameh Mosque of Zanjan

The mosque and school of Zanjan that is known as Sayyid Mosque, is in the heart of the old part of the town and in a good neighborhood and close to the city center.  From the west it is located next to the Qeysarie Bazaar, from the east with the alley of the Mosque of Sayyid, and from the north to Imam Khomeini Street and Sabzeh Meidan Square. This historic complex, which is one of the largest and most beautiful mosques and religious schools in Zanjan, is one of the most valuable monuments built on the basis of the design of traditional mosques. The four-door porches, located on the four sides of the mosque, are among the most beautiful sites of this place. The courtyard of this mosque, like other four-doors is rectangular, 48 meters long and 36 meters wide. One of the most important things to do in Zanjan is visiting this mosque. There are many other things to do in Zanjan in below.

Chehel Sotoun Mosque

Chehel Sotoun Mosque of Zanjan that is a historic place is located in the southeast side of Zanjan mosque. This mosque was one of the most famous religious schools of Iran during the Qajar period and was made by one of the famous scholars of that time Mullah Ali Qarpuz Abadi. According to the inscription on the front of the building, the building was erected in 1867. The mosque has a large porch and vault, with its arches and pillars mounted symmetrically on 32 thick columns. The altar of this mosque is arranged with a special tile that is decorated with flowers and plant designs, which is influenced by the school of the Qajar era.

Khanom Mosque

Khanom Mosque that was built in the Qajar period is located in Imam Street and in Fakhim al-Dowl alley. This work was registered on May 10, 1975 with the number 1055 as one of the national works of Iran. The existence of small and short minarets over the gate that has tiled bricks is comparable to Tehran’s Sepah Salar school minarets. All the techniques used in the Khanom Mosque are exclusively from the architectural features of the Qajar period. For example, the most impressive decorations of the entrance door, the upper levels of the chambers overlooking the middle ground, the geometric patterns in them and the colors used in them are best illustrated by the architecture of the Qajar era.

Abasgholi Mosque

Abasgholi mosque was built in the Qajar period and is located in Zanjan, Saddi Avenue. This site was registered on 23rd of August 1999 with the registration number 2374 as one of the national works of Iran. Since this mosque is located in the heart of the city, you can see several places simultaneously.

Eshaq Mirza Mosque

Eshaq Mirza Mosque was built in Zanjan in the Qajar period and in Ayatollah Taleghani Street. This site was registered on August 19, 2000 with the registration number 2765 as one of the national works of Iran.

Sheikh Ishraq Blvd.

This is not a religious place, but because it was named after Sheikh Ishraq, Shahabuddin Yahya Sohrevardi, we decided to put this place among the religious places. This place is located on Khorramshahr Blvd. with beautiful park and huge statues; Sheikh Ishraq Boulevard is a spectacular and pleasant place to visit. One of the interesting things to do in Zanjan is walking in this area.
